Sam Henery

AJ Hockey Coach

“Thank you Travel and Sport once again for sending me as the lead coach, I had an awesome experience. This tour tops all the tours I have been on in the past few years.

From start to end it was a slick process. Leon point of sale, Christelle/Frances handing over to Jenevieve. Thank you Travel and sport you guys make one mean team.

My players were all lovely well-mannered children, who all got along extremely well from day one.

The hockey games were well organised, the competition was good and well balanced. We were very happy with the way the hockey matches panned out. Their hockey staff and teams treated us like we were the National team.

The sights were breath taking, huge and unbelievable to the eyes. Egypt has so much to offer. We learnt a lot of interesting historical facts and saw many artefacts older than 3000BC. To mention a few highlights, the Giza Pyramids, Valley of the Kings and the Papyrus museum were all stunning sights.  The Red sea was incredible, we scuba dived in the aqua blue warm water and saw plenty of colourful fish. So many WOW moments.

The Egyptian people are friendly, kind and easy to talk too.

HOT is an understatement it was very hot averaging between 38-43 degree’s every day. We applied lots of sunblock and drank many litres of water every day.

Our guide Mohamed Gad was a fantastic tour guide. He met us at the airport and never left our sides for the entire trip. We always felt very safe. He guided us through all the sights giving us lots of extra information along the way. He was the best tour guide I have had. He was always on time, friendly and a pleasure to deal with.  Only thing I would change next time is to possibly visit a few less temples. We visited many temples and sometimes the kids lost interest and with the heat been over 40 deg, it was tough to keep them motivated and moving.

The hotels where we stayed were all lovely, comfortable and clean. The food was interesting; the kids however could always found something from the buffet which suited their palate.

We road all modes of transport this was exciting for the kids. Aeroplane, bus, train, camels, speed boats, horse carriages, Felucca’s.

Tipping is huge in Egypt, we quickly learnt that we needed to tip every single person as we go along. We collected 30 dollars from each player/ staff members and along with the R7327 (Left over kit money) received from Travel and sport we covered all the tipping on the tour.

This was a once in a life time tour every child should get to experience Egypt the way we did. It is rich in culture, history and wonderful people and places to visit.”
