“It is a wonderful, unique opportunity for a young person to see some of the obvious tourist attractions; to visit some of the top universities; to get to know like-minded teenagers from other schools across South Africa; and to do it all at a cost which is well below what it would be if one was to try to do everything that is packed into the tour on one’s own.
The tours are extremely well organized – from the flights to the hotels to the transfers to the speakers to the excursions. Every evening there is a chaperone’s meeting where the accompanying adults are updated and prepared for the next day. Groups are closely monitored by their chaperones, who are in charge of their group’s passports, tickets etc. whilst on the tour. Each chaperone has a Whatsapp group with the pupils in their group and another one for the parents, which they update daily.”
